Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what people usually ask

— Is this therapy or coaching? I am a licensed therapist in the United States, but the services offered here are coaching — not therapy. Coaching is forward-focused and skill-building. We work on where you are, where you want to go, and what's getting in the way. There is no diagnosis, no clinical treatment, and no insurance billing. This also means I can work with clients anywhere in the world.

— Can you work with clients outside the United States? Yes — this is specifically designed to be a global service. I work with clients across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and beyond. Sessions are virtual, scheduling is flexible across time zones, and payment is handled online.

— Do you work with young people directly? Yes. I work with young people from age 12 and up (as long as they are open and want to participate in coaching). For younger children, I typically work with parents to build strategies and support at home. If you're unsure whether coaching is the right fit for your child's age or situation, reach out and we can talk it through.

— Do you take insurance? No. Coaching is not covered by insurance and I do not bill insurance for sessions. All sessions are private pay. Pricing is listed on the Services page.

— What does a session actually look like? Sessions are typically 50 minutes, held virtually via video call. The format depends on what you need — some sessions are structured around a specific skill or challenge, others are more exploratory. Either way, we're always working toward something concrete.

— How many sessions will I need? That depends on what you're working on. Some clients do a handful of sessions around a specific transition or challenge. Others work with me consistently over several months. I offer single sessions and packages.

— What's the difference between parent coaching and working with my child directly? Parent coaching focuses on you as the parent; how to understand your child's brain, communicate more effectively, and support their development without burning yourself out. If your child is also interested in coaching, that happens in separate sessions. We can coordinate if helpful, with everyone's consent.

— I'm not sure which service is right for me. What should I do? Feel free to reach out. We'll talk about what's going on and I'll tell you honestly whether coaching is a good fit and which service makes the most sense for your situation.

— What if I or my child need clinical mental health support? Coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment. If you or your child need clinical care or are in crisis, please reach out to a licensed mental health professional in your area. I'm happy to help you think through what kind of support might be most appropriate.
